The land at Heydon is farmed in a unique collaboration with the neighbours Salle. Poul Hovesen oversees the day to day management of the land and property at Heydon. Poul is recognised as one of the pioneers of modern agriculture and has led the movement to focus farmers on sustainable farming practices. Crops grown include a wide rotation of wheat, malting barley, oilseed rape, sugar beet, potatoes, maize and beans. Cattle and sheep graze Heydon Park. Much of the farm is in Environmental Stewardship, which ensures the land is managed for food production but also improves wildlife habitats and maintains the traditional character of the landscape.
